Hey San Diego Moms! Are you looking for a fun event while making a difference? Grab your hubby and make it a date night. Rock for Research is sure to be an amazing event!
Every year millions of people are affected by cancer in some way or another. Rock for Research was founded by John Walker who recently lost his mother, Ferne Walker and close friend, Dr. William Shoemaker to cancer. After suffering such a huge loss, John decided to channel all his energy into this worthy cause.
On Saturday, Jan. 26th, Rock for Research will be holding its first benefit concert and silent auction honoring these two extraordinary people. The event will be held at the Marriott Del Mar in the Grand Ballroom at 6:30pm. The charity is hoping to raise fifty thousand dollars for The American Cancer Society . 100% of the proceeds from ticket sales, donations and silent auction will go directly to The American Cancer Society, earmarked specifically for research.
Several local bands have volunteered to rock this event! The lineup includes: Viva! Santana, Hemispheres: A Tribute to Rush, Wag Halen, Shifter and Cool Band Luke Featuring Laura Roppe. It’s going to be an incredible evening, celebrating the lives of these two special people and helping The American Cancer Society find a cure.
If you or your business is interested in donating a gift certificate, merchandise or service for the raffle or silent auction, please contact Deborah at deborahmcmahon@mac.com . Federal tax ID# 46-1464112
